Siobhán Cafferty is the Social Enterprise Project Manager for the Irish Criminal Justice Sector. She works for Pobal on behalf of the Department of Justice. Having developed the ‘Working to Change social enterprise and employment strategy’ for the Department, Siobhán is currently leading out on its implementation nationwide. She is dedicated to improving the infrastructure to support social enterprises, particularly WISEs, to ensure those furthest from the labour market are afforded the opportunity to work. 

Siobhán was previously the CEO of The Bridge Project; a community based organisation working with adult males convicted of violent offences. It was her experiences in this role that Siobhán developed an interest in social enterprise initiatives as a mechanism to increase employment options for people with criminal convictions as well as assisting with the reintegration back into society following custodial sentences.

Supporting social enterprises to ensure that those furthest from the labour market are included and given an opportunity to flourish benefits all of society. Implementing simple and innovative ways to grow the Third Sector, to have greater social impact makes sense.
