As a Pastry Chef trained to a Michelin star standard, I create exquisite branded macaroon gifts for large corporates, including Pantone match macaroons, branded gift tags, ribbons, and macaroons.

An experienced speaker on social enterprise and entrepreneurship, I am enthusiastic about increasing awareness about the sector and inspiring young people to set up in social enterprise.

I created Miss Macaroon because I wanted to create a social enterprise business that combined my passion for premium quality food – born from my training as a high-end pastry chef at University College Birmingham – and my work in Michelin starred restaurant Purnell’s in Birmingham. But I also wanted to provide opportunities for young people seeking a career and to build confidence in themselves. My ultimate aim was to help youngsters break into a highly competitive industry while providing moments of sublime indulgence for my customers, who through buying our macaroons, are helping many young people to achieve their lifetime goals.

I am passionate about providing training, employment opportunities and work experience placements for marginalised young people from deprived wards of Birmingham and the West Midlands. Miss Macaroon works with care leavers, offenders and ex-offenders, and BME groups aged 18 to 35 years who are not in employment, education or training.

Quote
We want to work to grow the impact of the Macaroons that Make A Difference programme supporting 18 to 35 year olds with multiple and complex needs to build their skills, confidence and get into meaningful and decent work. We want to continue to strengthen our body of research into the benefits of integrated workplace mental health support for young people, in particular to overcome the longer term impacts of the Covid19 pandemic.
