Originally from Germany and now based in the Netherlands, Sophie is joining Euclid Network as Communications Officer after already spending six months with the organisation as an intern. With a background in political science and experience in the human rights sector, she brings a strong systems perspective to her work in social impact communications.

In this interview, Sophie reflects on her journey into the impact space and what drew her to Euclid Network in particular. “I’ve always wanted to pursue an impact-driven career,” she explains. “Euclid Network makes that possible.” Having already worked closely with the team during her internship, she highlights the collaborative environment as one of the key reasons she chose to continue her journey within the organisation.

For Sophie, communications is not just about visibility, but about amplification. In her new role, she is particularly excited about making Euclid Network’s projects and insights more visible and accessible to wider audiences across Europe. “There are so many interesting projects and insights we generate,” she says. “I’m excited to help make that work more known, and hopefully increase its impact.”

Her academic and professional background in political science and human rights has shaped how she approaches her work. Sophie describes how this foundation helps her understand systems, institutions, and advocacy strategies. This perspective, she explains, is particularly valuable in advancing the social economy and engaging with complex European ecosystems.

Beyond her professional experience, Sophie speaks about social entrepreneurship as a movement that is both hopeful and practical. She is drawn to the creativity within the sector, but also to its ability to turn ideas into real, tangible solutions. Meeting people working in social impact over the past months has further strengthened her motivation to contribute to this space.

“It makes me feel like the work I do contributes to a future I want to be part of,” she reflects.

Outside of work, Sophie describes herself as a very social person who enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is also passionate about cooking and has been dancing for most of her life — something she says continues to shape how she moves through the world.

As Sophie begins her new role at Euclid Network, she brings together academic insight, sector experience, and a strong passion for meaningful communication. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the impact she will help shape across our work.
