We connected eight civil society organisations and social enterprise leaders from Hungary, the UK and the US for one week in Scotland. Find out what happened…

How do organisations in our impact-driven sector best work together to achieve common goals and advocate for a favourable environment? Among Euclid Network’ s values is“inspirational leadership and collective endeavour”. This speaks not only to individual CSOs and SEs but also to our collective endeavour as a sector, in all our colourful diversity, to drive positive change. In this Euro-Atlantic Open Seminar, we drew on inspiring practices of growing member federations and movements from different parts of Europe and the US.

Our Hungarian peers (Szoszov association of social cooperatives, Energia Klub Vedeglet“Protect the future”, UCCU, BAGAZS and Human Platform/Civil Factor – NGO) visited Scottish civil society organisations and social enterprises (PAS Building active citizenship, CEMVO Scotland, Social Firms Scotland, Senscot, Social Enterprise Scotland and ACOSVO, Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations) and together worked on innovative solutions to common challenges.

The peer exchanges were a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to explore the broader picture of civil society, beyond their respective countries and regions. The week-long exchange concluded with a seminar which also involved CIVICUS, CAF and the Central European University.
